Gardens, a cliffside, a hike, your dog, their family, anything under the sun that they love can be a romantic starting point for the plan. You have the ring. It’s hidden safely in its box in a drawer that is locked in your office and it’s been making you sweat for weeks. You’re ready to lock in a date for the big moment.

Your event planner or photographer can help you decide the details if needed. It’s important to know how much secrecy there is for your partner — do they know it’s coming, or are they about to be totally blindsided? That determines whether your photographer can walk up with a smile and introduce themselves to your soon-to-be fiancé as their photographer, under a cover story, or whether they have to be hiding behind that tree!

Then, it’s the big moment! You get down on one knee, your partner gasps, your photographer jumps out, and the rest is history.
