Planning a Wedding at StoneHaven Le Manoir
StoneHaven Le Manoir is a 1908 stone manor perched on a mountainside in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, overlooking Lac des Sables, carefully renovated to highlight the art deco spirit of its early days. It’s a different category of place.
I photographed an intimate summer wedding here and I'm still thinking about it. Here's everything you need to know if you're considering it for yours.
StoneHaven Le Manoir
This historic stone residence houses 51 rooms and suites, furnished with carefully restored antiques. Each room is distinguished by its own identity and touch of originality. Some have mountain views. The Panoramic Suite has vast windows and a spectacular view of Lac-des-Sables. The newlyweds get a complimentary suite for the wedding night, which is a detail that feels very StoneHaven — thoughtful, unhurried, and genuinely romantic!
This is a venue with large, beautiful and cozy lounges, manicured gardens, and forest trails, with rooms for your guests. The whole point is that you and your guests stay and let the property hold you for a day or two. That changes the entire energy of a wedding!
The Spaces
The magnificent reception hall features original woodwork and stained glass windows. The kind of architectural details that took over a century to accumulate, and that no amount of rental furniture or floral installation can replicate in a modern event space. Outdoor ceremonies on that terrace with the lake and mountains behind you produce images that look like they belong in a film. Because they absolutely do.
What It's Like to Photograph There
Photographing here feels like luxury. Summer at StoneHaven is beautiful. The trees of the surrounding forest filter the afternoon light into the grounds. The Italian Garden gives you portrait backdrops that will truly survive time. The lake views mean that even your widest, most cinematic frames have something incredible in the background.
Intimate weddings suit the property well. The scale of a small celebration fits the manor's character — it feels inhabited and personal. The day I photographed here moved at a pace that let moments actually happen rather than being managed into existence, and that shows in every frame.
The Practical Details
A minimum of 34 rooms must be rented, and you also have the option to rent all 51 rooms. This means StoneHaven is designed for buyouts and couples who want the entire property to themselves for their celebration. If that's not your budget, it's worth knowing upfront. For couples who want a fully private, completely immersive wedding weekend where your guests are all under the same roof and the property is entirely yours, there is nowhere else in the Laurentians that delivers this at this level.
StoneHaven is for couples who looked at standard wedding venues and didn’t feel a pull, and then saw this and immediately understood. It's for people who care about the interior space as much as the flowers, who want their guests to feel genuinely hosted rather than processed through an event, and who want their wedding photos to look like nothing their friends have ever seen before.
It's the definition of elegance when it comes to intimate wedding venues, paying respect to its past while bringing in beautiful, modern touches, surrounded by nature and breathtaking views.
